Lots of gardening.

Biked to Madison.

Moved into Shea's house.

Biketoberfest.

Elyse visiting.

 

 

I'm going to venture out & say it was a great year. I'm genuinely happy with the people in my life. I've cut out the riff raff, for the most part, and worked on making friends & meeting new people. As a result, I am truly enjoy those who surround me. I can only hope this happiness will carry on well into 2010.

 

Looking forward to:

Ringing in the New Year with friends, instead of in bed.

The possibility of finally jumping in Lake Michigan on New Year's.

Finally getting our household Y membership.

Squirrelling away money.

Working a second job, again.

Visiting San Francisco, again. Feb?

Visiting Boston, April?

Spending some time on a farm this spring/summer.

Putting my self out there & open to failure, it really is the only way to make things happen.

Dancing in the Dark has officially saved my morning.

Shea & I biked out to Madison yesterday. The weather sucked and we rode for most of the day in a steady mist.
I'm helping her with the Bike Fed/Saris Gala tonight. Luckily we get to take a chartered bus complete with booze back to Milwaukee.

i am at work in last night's clothes. my shoe lace is about to break. i smell terribly. i forgot my lunch at home. but honestly, i really could not be having a better day.

RW24 bike race starts tonight. The weather looks horrific. It is supposed to rain/thunderstorm/hail for a vast majority of tonight/early morning. My friend Brian is wearing a suit & I am wearing a prom dress for our final laps.

The house is going be a nut house this coming week. Shea has guests until the end of July so I can't move anything until the first. I'm trying to get everything in one corner of the house to keep all my stuff together. If it doesn't fit, it's getting donated or tossed. Coffee, lunch & root beer floats for all move helpers. But you have to be ready by 9am. I want to be done by 12.

Also, I was contacted by the Dept of Correctional Detention about donating yarn/craft supplies. The women use donated materials to knit and crochet mittens, scarves, and toys for kids at local shelters. If you have any yarn or pattern books let me know. I am running a box or two over there early next week.

i have way too much to get done!

does anyone have a 26.00 threadless road stem in a 90-100mm length i could borrow for a week?

i want to try out putting a longer stem on the gunnar, but need to know if i should all the way out to 100mm (i have a 50mm chubby little thomson on there right now) before i drop $60 on a new stem.

i have a wonderful black denim skirt that is getting out of shape & faded.
h&m no longer carries it so i can't pick up a replacement.
does anyone have any online sources for a new one?

i rode the bus this morning with a liberty mutual tax service sign guy. in full statue of liberty regalia & drinking a forty.

so i just rode home from stonefly.
i had my brand new headlight turned on to steady.
i roll up the 3 block distance to locust with both my lights on. as i roll up the 20 last feet to locust a police van turns on their lights & sirens. i assume they are heading across holton to a shooting so i don't pull over and turn into the empty shoulder lane of oncoming traffic. no one is within 3 blocks of me and my house is 4 blocks down. the officer immediately pulls over and hops out of his van. he yells at me for being "barely able top see my front light"(the light required by milwaukke/wisconsin law)  and once he sees my back llght he gets all squirelly and hardcore about me being out late. "well you heard sirens and lights why didn't you pull over?; it's federal law?! uh, because it's locust and i figured you were headed towards a vehicle or homicide.  i thought i would be out of your way."how much have you been drinking tonight?!" (surly tone) ' i had a few drinks, ';m on my way home i'm 4 houses in'  "well you better damn walk home, i could give you a $300 ticket tonight if you don't keep your mouth shut lady" 'officer i'm being completey cordial & cooperative, i have my lights on, i tjought i was getting out of your way' "you better watch it or i'll give you a ticket"  fuck you mpd, get off my ass.
